Often breast cancer signs and symptoms are invisible, even when examining your breasts every month. Breast cancer survivors recommend to take a mammogram!

Did you know that only 5% of the raised funds from breast cancer awareness jewelry goes to cancer prevention? As a wise person, don’t you say: "it’s better to prevent than to cure!".
That’s exactly why Charlotte Haley at 68 began making and distributing peach ribbons in the 1990s. This pink peach color up to now became the symbol for anything breast cancer awareness related.
Yet still most of the funds raised is wasted in trying to find a cancer cure in stead of preventing 125 women in the UK every day from getting breast cancer.
Next time you acquire breast cancer awareness jewelry, do ask the salesperson whether the money will go to:
- trying to find a breast cancer treatment (most money goes here, with the least results for your money spent)
- trying to prevent cancer (how great would it be to reduce by half the amount of new breast cancer patients each day!)
- helping care givers cope with their loved one having breast cancer
Buying breast cancer awareness jewelry is a good first step. If you want to be involved more up and close, go and find in your neighbourhood a cancer support group, ask what they want or how you can contribute.
You would be amazed that by cooking a pot of thick, healthy soup, you could put a second of relief in the life of cancer care givers who day in day out need to cope with their loved one most of the time going from bad to worse.
Breast cancer awareness jewelry is great to remind you each and every day again more than 100 new people in the UK alone will need all the help they can in order to treat their breast cancer.
Get active in your own little neighbourhood, you would be surprised how many people have dealt with or are still dealing with cancer.

Breast cancer radiation side effects are much less compared to the side effects of chemotherapy. And the radiation therapy itself is completely painless.
The main side effect of breast cancer radiation is tiredness. You won’t be tired all the time though but sometimes extreme fatigue can take the upper hand. Make sure you have a lot of rest afterwards.
Radiation can be compared with sunbathing, so sun burnt side-effects can occur like:
- skin colouring pinkish, red or darker
- skin-burn which happens more with patients who had a lumpectomy compared to patients who had a mastectomy without any breast reconstruction
- peeling of the skin
- crispy and swollen skin
- flu like symptoms you also have after a severe sunburn
The hospital should provide you with creams to counter these side effects. At home, keep on using Aloe Vera which is very soothing. Whatever cream you use, try it out first on a small area to see whether your cream doesn’t aggravate the problem.
Some people that got breast cancer radiation therapy also complain about:
- a loss of appetite
- soreness of the breast
- heartburn and nausea when during the radiation also the oesophagus gets radiated

Please share your breast cancer radiation side effects and remedies in a comment!
